Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

I just want out of here

I don't care if DSD is ending or not, I don't care about anything related to Mondelez anymore, I just want out of here. The work environment has become so toxic here that I dread going to work each day.

Yet, I've been here long enough that finding a job with comparable pay is not so easy. A layoff with severance would be a dream come true for me right now.

We all are going to get out of here! It’ll be 2020, watch! GS has said no layoffs “this year”! Cause it’s next year!! You are valued, this year, not next! Haha!!

Of course DSD is a powerful tool, and of course we are committed to DSD! That means absolutely nothing! DSD is an expense our customers pay for, are they committed? Are they willing to continue to pay for DSD? All the signs point to a VERY obvious answer of NO! New warehouses and CAO and even now EDI all are tell tale signs of an exit from DSD! Are people that stupid or just unwilling to embrace reality to the point that they will believe whatever they are being told? Wake up!

He never stated the plans moving forward! Quit trying to read into that statement! Did he say we were continuing with dsd? No, lends towards an exit! How they fly! I have no doubt dsd is ending, just didn’t know if any more information was released? Guess not!

He did announce his strategic review. He said DSD is a powerful source. We will continue with DSD he said. No layoffs he said. We're committed to DSD he said!

Still waiting to hear where this can be confirmed? I don’t doubt it but haven’t seen anything where it has been acknowledged.

I thought Dirk was to announce plans last fall, results of strategic review.

90% of every retail account is already warehouse! You are working way too hard to convince yourself your job is safe!! Use that energy to find a new job cause yours is ending! We are far from too big! Retailers are taking back one vendor at a time and we are next!! Get ready. Your boss can tell you all day how committed “we” are to dsd, east to say when “we” aren’t calling the shots! Retailers are phasing out dsd to increase profit margins, they simply don’t want to pay fo our full service anymore! It’s not that hard, and our work is far from indispensable! Keebler exited early, knowing what was coming, to save $. Their deals are k--ling us! Every time we turn around another $1.88 on all crackers. PRD drops everywhere, and stores are putting them out, because it’s now their baby! No way we can compete!

Quit working hard to spin this your way! Every red flag is being waved directly in your face!

Every time I turn around there's another indicator. When I mention we're too big to my store managers they think I'm joking. They smirk and remind me they handle much bigger accounts than us. Sara, is that you? Live from the White House?

No indication we're going warehouse anytime soon. Still years away. We're too big! We have a weekend event in August. Business as usual

Yep, two years is about right! And in those two years have you seen any indicators that Mondelez is going warehouse? Guessing you are expecting this transition to occur overnight? Haha 🤣 Right on track

Smart rep! My DM, don’t call before noon or you will wake him up and he’s grouchy when he first wakes up! If you forget, it’s ok, he usually doesn’t answer anyways. Been a rep for over 10 years....never ever done a work with! Not complaining! Just think it’s funny. Never worked for a company that the DM doesn’t work with reps at least one a month?

Just be like my rep take.nap outside the store then catch an afternoon movie then call it a day rinse and repeat. I actually had a store manager show me the picture of my rep taking a nap outside the store. Lol

My thoughts exactly.. constantly having to order way too much just to satisfy some insane sales goal..id--tic DM and RMS that have little to no experience in the field.. basically having to lie to stores every day.. i- deploy is a joke. Looking like some kind of mo--n walking around the stores constantly taking pictures and then those pictures are not even calculated correctly. Favoritism shown to certain sales reps based on nothing but personal friendships. Dread every single moment of this job and it didn't have to be like that. The terrible and ineffective management has made it this way. Watching it be managed into the ground is my only joy at this point.

Just stop caring! That’s the ticket! Our managers have so why shouldn’t we? Once you embrace the concept of going to work and going home, nothing more, than it gets more bearable! I quit selling, trying to hit objectives, and doing one thing above and beyond. Who cares! Not me! I wish I did this years ago!

Another rep suggested this to me some time ago, and wow....it really works!
