Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Tips

I started in the pharmacy at an EXTREMELY busy CVS. Like, call queues could easily go up to 7-10 on hold; it's bad. So because of this I never got trained well in QP or QT and was perpetually the pickup/ drive through/14-day b--ch. I got to do QP and drop off every once in a while, enough to learn basics, but nothing very substantial.

So I eventually transfer to a closer CVS and it was amazing; there are no constant lines, calls coming in rarely go above 3, and just way slower in general. It's a very nice change. So with this change I figured that I could now really get some time in QP/QT, but I was wrong.

I'm still the one pick up/ drive though/ 14 day gets dumped on and now I get micromanaged and treated like I'm dumb by my co workers.I feel like they're all looking down their noses at me. When I ask a question they way they answer makes it seem like I'm inconveniencing them and they get short with me. I feel like they're constantly "mansplaning" (but pharmacy style) everything to me.

As an example: today I started doing 14 day and one of the younger girls came up to me and said "OrlandoKnight, just keep your basket here moves it (it wasn't in the way at all) and pull. And when you pull just pull the scripts, don't open them (I only did that once in the past because this same girl told me to)". There was also a test she was taking for the rx and everyone (even the SM) was stumped on. Literally everyone was trying to get this thing and she looks over at me and goes "Orlandoknight don't worry about this and just help him out" when someone had just came out of the isle right then (No exaggeration. I was being vigilant and watching the register since I'm always there) and everyone, even the second tech, were still huddled around this computer. I constantly am told to pick up the phone or get pick up or drive through, even when these 2 other techs are laughing and screwing around.

Even the new PIC that started a few days after me has made friends with everyone and they all get along and joke. It s---s because the first day I worked with him (his first day) we were making jokes and laughing, but now he barely talks to me (unless it's work related).

So now not only am I doing mind-numbing jobs that kids could do, but I'm pretty sure I've been labeled as an outcast and the only stimulating part of my day is interacting with the patients or the awesome FS people (The fs and rx at my store are all cool with eachother, by the way).

I don't know what to do. I've told them I know how to do QP and once I'm in my grove I'm pretty good at it. I've talked to the manager who was really awesome and has apparently talked to the RPHs about letting me do more stuff, but nothing has changed at all. I feel like the new kid that no one likes and then gets bossed around.

Any tips? At all? Seriously. Anything would help. For my sanity I need to get away from the registers for a bit during the day so my brain doesn't f---ing melt. I seriously want to go to the bathroom to cry because I have no idea how to fix it without being labeled as a "problem" or looking b--chy.

Who cares, so you really need to be buddy buddy with everyone? People will eventually warm up later on. Cvs clicks are normal, but it’s like being popular on the short bus at school. Imo not that big of a deal. Just clock in do what you’re assigned, and always keep busy. Don’t ask the store manager to ask pic to let you do something else. Can make the business relationship awkward, which may already seem to have happened. Now on the other side of it. No here knows personally how you work, and what it’s like to work with you. In retail there are several colleagues that think they can do everything better then, say a strong tech, or whatever the position is. When actually they are far less competent. Take personal inventory on how good you are able to perform. In time when you put your time in, you’ll be given a chance. In short don’t be so sensitive. Work, do as your told even when not told, and go home. Makes life easier.

If you have been at 2 stores and didn’t pick up anything yet umm.... it might not be everyone else’s problem.
