Hi,
Are the rumors true that if you are RIF'd (laid-off), that the company (even though there is published RIF policy) won't pay the severance? And that they deny unemployment?
Hi,

Got severance pay last year when my office got surplussed & subsidized COBRA per our union contract. Also am receiving unemployment for now.
Severance is totally up to them. It will be ending soon and you will just be let go to draw unemployment.
Severance may extend the date that your unemployment eligibility begins, But you will be eligible at that time.
It’s union protected!
Really? No severance??? Even though they have a published policy on the HR intranet?
no severance.. whoever got it consider yourself extremely lucky.
Same here. Received severence and Cobra.
I got severance and as far as I know, everyone in the 2 centers in the building we used to work in did as well. COBRA health insurance was even still at the company subsidized rate.
You get unemployment. They don't have to offer severance.
