I know the agreement side has been hit hard. I haven't heard much about managers and non-agreement in general though. It must be a nightmare to work for UP as a manager now, especially for the field managers.

The best way i can describe the up management troupe is michael jacksons neverland ranch. 2 of everything, they live in a fantasyland where nobody is allowed to doubt or ask questions and protect from the outside on what is going on.
Question:
Why does UP have managers, senior managers, Directors, AVP, RVP, VP, and something called a "General Superintendent" in the leadership chain? There's a lot of redundancy and overlap in all these positions with little (if any) apparent added value.
In most other companies it goes manager, regional manager, director, then executive. Less is more.
There’s not any rvp’s getting 10 million dollar buyouts. That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.
A lot of OMTs are looking for other jobs. Not sure if that answers your question.
Hundreds of non-agreement have been laid off - easily 500+ and counting
Thought unethical was a requirement.
We hear less about management because anything they say about their situation is drowned out by all the noise made my agreement employees, who apparently assign a higher value to their personal suffering.
I'm guessing they (agreement) complain louder and more often because they have fewer options, and are thus stuck where they are. When you're management you can jump on LinkedIn and find another job anytime. Most managers I know (including myself) did exactly that.
I got 10 million
There's been VP's, RVP's, General Superintendents and Directors cut and most are given some type of buyout or severance pay. In a few cases they're offered another job within the company, if they had agreement seniority they were probably offered a package that included the ability to mark up. In another case a Regional Vice President was offered a 10M severance, that doesn't include what he already had in his 401K. So, don't feel sorry for the executives as they're given more money than the average person could spend. If you make it big within the company they compensate you well unless you do something unethical. If you have the will to win, the desire to succeed, the urge to reach your full potential and the ability to kiss a lot of a--, then you too could reach the top.
I'm guessing that person doesn't work for UP. a nightmare for a manager? Try the entire railroad.
Really dude you haven’t heard one single thing? Nothing about eliminating all the AVP’s or anything like that? Do you even railroad bro?
Nope
