Thread regarding Sears layoffs

I think we're going nowhere

I've been thinking about this for the past few days - the stores that are still standing have been through so much in the past few years, survived so many cost cuttings and closings, that it feels like we are now here to stay.

There might be some layoffs, or cuts in hours, but the stores that made it should be safe at least for a while (maybe even a long while.)

The store I used to work at was a 35 million dollar volume store in the late 1990's and profitable back then as well.

Then, sales began to tumble....

It is now closed permanently as of a few months ago.

Nothing in life is certain except for death and taxes.

Just because your store made it this far through the cuts and slashing throughout the company does not guarantee longevity going forward, especially with slick Eddie still calling the shots.
