Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Layoffs this week?

Entire teams in IT being outsourced or vendored out. Pink slips for many people this week. Multiple locations.

Any chance we can get more info on this? I haven't heard anything about layoffs taking place this week - what exactly is this referring to? What did I miss?

The major part of IT Operations has been outsourced NTT data. Includes, Service Desk, Tech Bar, Field Services (previously outsourced), Citrix, VDI etc. All the easy stuff.... Keep all the employees working on the c-ap, so they can take the heat when systems fail!

Global Service Desk in Ft Worth has been shutdown recently. Function moved to Manila. People calling in for assistance are complaining more and more about this.

I heard Field Service/Tech Bar and Citrix are in the process of being outsourced. Should be done in June/July.

Rumor has it that in June there will be another RIF and one in August too. Unknown which groups in will be hit.

George M and his team created this IT env they have no clue ....most deployments are half way done...and they RIF the good folks

@YY52zGH-1qnx, could not agree more. I use 3 browsers at work, because depending on where you go certain ones don't work to open certain apps or Sharepoint sites. Even simple tasks are difficult in this environment.

I'm not hearing anything about layoffs after a profitable quarter. AIG has a way to go before going back to last year. Future layoffs depend on hurricanes and wildfires.

Not sure if this is related but there has been so many server issues and connection issues this week. Trying to get help with your computer issue is a joke. They put you on hold forever. Then when someone comes on to assist you, you can't understand what they are saying.....language barrier.... and you get put on hold again. Very frustrating working at this company. The daily issues you have to deal with just to try to get your job done.

Read the other post replies. Entire departments are being outsourced . Helpdesk in Fort worth got eliminated. Citrix support got the boot, tech bar seems to be on the way out. More winsec people got laid off.

Fort worth data center to be closed by end of year.

But hey the town hall said we were okay........some f---er even joked about loosing a whole years salary on a bad investment....and laughing about it.
