Needs to be a law against this! It's bulls*it to be punished more severely for being sick on certain days..

I do not think it is right to change a person's schedule without telling them. Oops we changed your schedule and did not tell you so now it is a no call no show! What kind of employer does that?
I think what you meant to say was this wouldn't be a problem if Walmart paid shift premiums for weekends and holiday pay for major holidays, ya know kinda like every other company does...
This wouldn't be an issue if we didn't have associates abusing the system to begin with. Prime example we have an associate at my location that has an intermittent leave (FMLA) on file and brags that she has taken so many days off and is still getting her 125% myshare. So yeah until we weed out the "Buddy F'ers" that are constantly abusing the policies. Get used to it. And if it is that much of a problem... Well, bye Felicia

Jesus, you sound like such a whiner. I've yet to see anyone fired for attendance who wasn't playing the system and deserved it!
It's causing severe hardship on the Associates.Beings they don't take Doctor's excuses period,in fact they laugh at you when you hand them one.It's hard for one to get there minds around how cruel and down right corrupt this rogue company has become.I have worked for them over 20 years and they are getting worse and worse in caring and sporting there Associates.I have never seen so many people quit I mean new faces every day.They come to work expecting to make a decent wage there get there wages cut,just a few houser a week then end up quiting.Whats the game walmart what in the hell are you doing.If you believe walmart is a good company you are traveling with a caravan of fools.They are changing them selfs to death.Our store has done away with most checkouts and replaced them with 90% self check outs.The few traditional check outs are back up.Customers parading up and down b--ching and moaning because there are few left.Most of the store remodeled and moved around.Customers wondering around in circles crazy as a loon trying to figure it all out.They are installing gates entering and leaving at the entrance so they can corral the customer so they cant get through until they show there Receipt.As I said they are changing there selfs to death.In closing one final thought,.If you have a few items the self check "might" be Ok. But I be damed if I have a full cart of groceries after shopping I sure don't want the added burden of checking them out on one of the belt checkouts.That what I Pay them for.They are also adding grocery pick up I don't like the ideal of some one handling my food hard to tell where there hands have been.I have seen dell 's and meat Associates using the bathroom stales and not washing there hands.Hard to tell what they have been handling.You think they will run to the restroom and wash every time they Handel someones food,in the rat race environment at walmart.walmart what in the hell have you done you are destroying your stores every one the customers are on the run out the door everyone.If you are thinking of working for them run run run
