Steele and Aluminum tariffs , is that a big reason or small for the layoffs?

Mary kept getting promoted during her career due to her great management skill and decision ability.

She was always better than her coworkers.

You need a reason.

You cannot say that you have to layoff people because you do not know how to manage a company or you wasted money because you have no brain.

5eur - Yesssssss , Jesus Yes , the fact she's CEO still is f---ing Rediculous . Like is said , she's destroying the company from the inside out , not to mention Trump will baried her and GM , Anyone want my CTS ? If not it's going to to the car crusher , I can't even give it away ! I'm going to buy a new Honda !

Do you think all of GM's customers will buy Hondas because Trump told them to?

Simple. He highlights in a speech that the current leader of GM is effectively operating a foreign company for foregin workers, and recommends buying Toyota or Honda whoever based on whatever nice understandings he gets from one or two of them. Millions will stop buying GM overnight. Mary will be forced out immediately, even if the board does not blame her. Entering an enormous public war with any American president is very bad for General Motors.

Small. An excuse. Like when the phone says "due to unusually high call volume..."

Is trump going to buy GM?

How else is he going to fire mary?

If trump buys GM he can reopen Lordstown like he wants and make lots of bad cars.

Marry Barra is not American , globalist 100% if Trump gets elected again he will crush her , like he's doing right now, and you want to know why , because he can. I want to hear him say You're Fired , the day she leaves GM you will see people jump for joy as she will go down as the worst GM CEO in history.

Trump does have the upper hand , Marry dosent like to answer tough questions to the media as recently demonstrated on nightly news , Lots of secrets. Maybe the Chinese investing will give her endless cash flow for EVs.

Mary wants open and endless EV tax credits, as half of her business now depends on it. I'd say Trump has the upper hand. Government income is guaranteed, GM's is not.

Funny how I see plenty of our cars that nobody wants to buy on the road ! Funny how GM gets tax breaks and bailouts , funny how GM dosent really pay taxes and hasn't for years. It's going to be even more fun when gas prices climb here in the state of Michigan even more. Corporations and government grease each other's palms , Barra threw a hissy fit when she didn't get her way and now the Trump tweeter is having his hissy fit. Making America great , .... Again. Same ol story just a different date in time.

What government favor did mary ask trump for?

Seems like the other way around. Trump was begging mary to keep making cars that no one wants to buy in the Lordstown plant, and she told HIM to take a hike.

Other than diversity, name one of Mary's policies that Democrats would agree with.

I always thought she was a heartless Republican who'd cut any corners and screw over anyone to make a buck.

And she was good buddies with trump until she closed Lordstown and made him look bad among his ditto head supporters in Ohio.

Dcr, right on.

She's standing right in a noticeable position (colored) on the 2015 Economist cover. She's a globalist pawn playing her assigned hand on the grand stage.

Not many people get to wake up and see the larger world picture. Some things aren't so much a coincidence, as opposed to a hidden hand playing and guiding society to an intended result.

What a joke. The tariffs are not even close to the reason. Mary has decided to double down on the GM approach to car making. That is, buy your cheap parts from China and do your manufacturing in low wage countries. Now she has doubled down on her globalist approach by shipping out a good portion of the engineering. Plus she has the added benefit of having a fairly recent cattle call to hire massive amounts of employees all the while knowing she will have a massive lay off to keep the best of the lot. I know it sounds harsh but I have been around enough to know how this works.

She is a globalist, being American means nothing to her. They will bring the red white and blue mantra out during advertising and when they are begging for your tax dollars to keep them a float. These are cold, calculating and intelligent people.

Agreed , I believe that alot less people would be laid off.

My personal opinion is that the tariffs were the tipping point. It’s hard to believe that a republican would support tariffs. 40+!years too late.

I agree , two things , I wonder what the outcome would be if Trump hadn't been elected and would we be working?
