Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Let’s face facts

The stores are broken. Still plenty of Very long term associates and managers exist. Leadership has lost 80% of it’s value in their stock positions. Easy way to buy back some of that stock loss is to lower payroll. How do you do that? Make Bold moves like slashing payroll to sickening levels, close a hundred stores, and keep sending people who have gotten full time and 2% a year down the road. You can hang on and wait for the next ST and MF portal letter which paints a confident and hopeful future or you can get the heck out now! No one is on the sales floor anymore but the LOD I feel badly because he or she has to get 27 TBS orders and 13 Beyond plus sign ups all them selves. Uh oh I think I just heard the UPS driver ring the bell in receiving, there’s a toilet overflowing, the ROPIS gun is beeping, three customers need help, chain store is on hold,4 call outs, the carts are all over the parking lot, and a piece of paper on the floor. Which one should I do first Marty? For the love of God which one ! Aaaagggghhhh

Well said and how very true. The current RVP group is so removed from the Stores that they have very little understanding of the demands in each building. Can't wait until they are forced to be actively involved in fixing the daily concerns in stores because there will no longer be a director, regional, or district staff to pick up for them. Shame on the RVP's for not being the true voice of the field. And shame on the corporate leadership team for supporting them.
