Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

What's the future of PaaS in OCI?

Esp Java Cloud service, App Container Cloud, Dev Cloud service, Content Cloud, Mobile Cloud, etc.

Are products safe? Will they be merged with OCI?

I worked for PSM(OCI-C) and got thrown into the DB org late last year.

As per my knowledge, the deadline to release DB on OCI is 31st may,(we are not even code complete yet)

OCI-C to be totally shut down in 2 months time.

the only answer I've been able to glean from anything is: are they aligned with autonomous DB and SaaS? the answer is basically no. if you take a strict reading of what Larry says, they are not strategic. I've asked the same question about on-prem things like middleware.

there will never be a straight answer.

Are they making money right now? Is there any way to accurately determine this?

Could they be moved to OCI in a sensible way. Take something like Identity Cloud Service (IDCS) - that does not make sense to move to OCI because OCI has its own IAM.
