Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Is this really the end of Xerox as we know it?

I don’t have to tell anyone about the state that the company was in and all pointed towards the fall, but is this really the end of Xerox in a form that it existed in? I certainly didn’t think it would come so soon, but with the recent moves it seems to me that they were made in an attempt to hold on for dear life and they look to me like acts of desperation rather than any sort of a strategic decision.

The BIG difference between Kodak and Xerox is Sales & Distribution. Kodak primarily sold consumer goods with a limited print distribution channel. What Xerox has is the XBS sales and distribution channel to the SMB market along with the Enterprise business market share. That is why Xerox will be acquired, and Kodak is slowly dying.

Xerox as we knew it ended years ago. This is just the final nail in the coffin.

A company with many assets whose main focus is in a declining industry is a prime target for take over and break up for profit. Like Wall Street. They want the profits now. It won't take long!

I think yes. I watched friends at Kodak go thru the Kodak nose dive of the company in 5 years. Now you see the Kodak name being used on junk being sold from companies that are, well not so desirable. Xerox seems to be on a faster track that Kodak was to slip down that slope.
