Someone posted if you don't like your job leave. I don't live paycheck to paycheck but I am almost at Social Security age. I have YEARS experience in my specialty field but most companies won't hire me BECAUSE of my age. It's not as easy as "just leave". Also going to the break room for fifteen minutes at 9 o'clock is NOT walking out.

How did this go?
At exactly 9 am. I turned and walked slowly to the break room, each moment gathering fresh strength. I scarcely believed that it was happening, but it was real and fifteen minutes later, when it was over, I felt proud. I did it. I actually walked out.
I know Mishawaka Sam’s Club just let go there HR! It couldn’t happened to a nicer person.
We just got paged on the radio that they need 2 spotters and a lift driver to Receiving to drop something overnights didn’t stock out. Now they need runners to the front, lines are all the way back to the snack aisle. After I get done dropping a couple pallets, I am walking out again!! We are creating chaos with our walk out, no way are they going to get to their goal of 25 new Plus members by 10am!!!
We are actually doing this, there are 6 of us and we just walked out. I am so proud of my co-workers! Power to the people!
Contact local media! This trickle affect of terminating high-paying positions should be public. Corporate learned their world known lesson last time when they fired all the hourly demo people on the spot on a Sunday morning. Doing it now a little at a time never hits the media. Love that Home Office always gives the explanation of early retirement/pursue other opportunities for their fired CEO's. Word will get out, believe it.
I agree with most of you. If you dont like your job leave. There are so many more who would be more then happy to fill that position..
Nobody will walk out. Folks are too scared of being fired.
For those who plan on following through with this and who work in an "At-Will" state keep in mind this could result in a termination. And I am sure the State Workers at your local unemployment office will have a good laugh and day as they ask you repeatedly why are you applying for unemployment on April Fools Day.
It's not management, it's corporate executives. The management team has no control over h.o. decisions...they are pawns like the rest of us.

Most Sam’s workers are too poor and scared to strike. And even if that weren’t true, how would they ever coordinate a walkout?

Not everyone is poor and live paycheck to paycheck. We are just not stupid . The company is changing welcome to retail. If you can't accept change you probably should see yourself out the door or you will probably be the first that they help out. No one loves losing their jobs or positions it s---s ( I know first hand). All companies change to make more money. If you dont like the direction the company is going then move on. No one is holding you hostage and making you work there.

Knuckle heads if you walk out .. You will be terminated for Job Abandonment. You screw the Club Managers, your fellow Associates, most especially the Members on our busiest day of the week.. This is a foolish , unnecessary move to hurt the Club and Company. Above all else it’s very Stupid!
Btw. You are free to quit if you dont like your work environment. Work is work. You will always have managment that you dont like.
This is a bad idea. You must live at home and dont need to feed your family. Go ahead and put yourself on the radar for the first to go if they have to cut head count.
I'm down. You just need to get a whole lot more people involved. This Saturday is not enough time. You need a few weeks out. And not just 9am... 9am Pacific time? Mountain? East coast? Plan it out more
