Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

They can't find anyone gullible enough

They did these layoffs. Reposted the same positions "looking for fresh talent".

Everyone knows what a mess this company is to work at and won't touch these jobs so they just sit empty. Why would anyone want a position for less pay than the brick building a block away offers, no work from home, reduced education reimbursement, no in house training ...all with the high risk atmosphere of layoffs month-to-month.

How do you sell that to a prospective employee in an interview? Or turn the table, maybe management could ask people who apply for the Sales team positions how they would sell their self on it.

Lo and behold one of the senior lawyers was forced out today. Unbelievable the way his manager harassed and berated him for months because she felt like he was a threat to her position. Cannibal culture when you get promoted not based on merit. It makes an imbalanced person even more so. Hope he sues the bank, the department, and the managers.

A new lawyer recently started in the NY office. He was either very desperate for employment or wasn't made aware that he would be working in an open space and reporting to a nutcase. He needs to watch out because she is conniving and always playing victim. She cries and lies to upper management, HR, you name it to get her way. That is the only reason she got promoted to her current position. Definitely not based on being qualified. Pathetic.

Desperate people will take any job. Thats why we remain. Thats why “managers” now lead a team whose jobs they don’t know. Thats why workers with “bad” managers don’t leave. The company aspires to “transparency”, but nobody tells the truth or maybe they don’t even know whats really going on. What a mess.
