Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Yea, this place blows

OK, it has been well established that douchebag Johnny and that parasite Icahn have wrecked this place though it can be argued that the clueless Xerox leadership team got the a big lead on this front in the preceding years with their lack of any time of long term strategy.

I really hope that everyone posting their very legitimate gripes on this site is spending far more time posting for jobs to get the F out of here. No need to play the victims any longer - DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

I agree, everyone is leaving with a piece of xerox in em when we leave but I chose to leave, I could not bare a day in this environment. It became to damn expensive to trade my peace and sanity. It hurts to ship go down.. with the same id--ts that should have left originally.

People are doing something about it. Many are leaving. I am leaving. Depending on local circumstances, the VRIF is still available in some parts of this organisation and people do go for it even if in some personal circumstances (read -> age) it seems like a risky strategy. You need to judge your personal circumstances yourself and then take appropriate action and I know many veterans who actually do that. The key knowledge is being lost as I write these words. People might be emotionally attached to the company in one way or another (like myself, more to colleagues and memories of better times than to the organisation itself) but at the end what counts is your life and your wellbeing. If you can do something about it and you feel that staying at Xerox no longer serves any purpose - get out. Find another job if you can but do not count on any discretionary severance terms if you decide to stay for much longer. That is one of the reasons why I made the decision to leave now before I am left with nothing after a couple of decades of good and loyal service. Yes, I do share mixed feelings about the entire ordeal but the longer I consider pros and cons for staying I get convinced I did the right thing.
