Thread regarding CVS layoffs

This is what's happening...

We're not being told the truth by corporate. I think CVS is in a lot worse shape than we are led to believe. Think of CVS as a ship. Right now our ship is badly damaged. I won't say we're the titanic just yet, but here we are, damaged and taking on water. Above deck and below deck you can see the damage, and you go into the engine room and there is water up to your ankles and you know that this is not good. You're still afloat but clearly this is not good. So the captain (our ceo) gets on the horn and tells the crew that he is aware the ship sustained some damage, but everything is fine, not to worry! In fact he even tells you that he's ordered the engines to full steam ahead! (The same engine room that's filling with water slowly) You listen and hear the engines roar full blast, with water rising still. Will we make it, or is gunning the engines just delaying the inevitable? We're still afloat but for how much longer? The problem is things are not great and corporate acknowledges as much to wall street, but then says everything will be fine and tells wall street that it's full steam ahead in a ship filling with water.

To the previous poster, I am the OP and no I don’t know everything, and I will be the first one to admit that. That having been said, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see clearly that things aren’t good right now at cvs. You can disagree with me that’s fine, you’re entitled to your opinion, and I respect your opinion. I just see things as a little more worse than we’re being led to believe. In the end I guess only time will tell. That having been said, I call it as I see it. And right now I see our ship taking on water. I apologize if I offended you.

Walmart, Costco, and Amazon are now in the pr-scrip-ion d--g game. Long term, we've seen what those companies did to their competition. To paraphrase Bezos, your margin is my opportunity. CVS is in a fight for its survival against which the likes of Walmart may lose.
