Guys, I woke up this morning and felt the need to reflect on how blessed you and I are to work for a loving and caring organization like Union Pacific Railroad. I was recently contacted by Tesla and offered a position as a lead programmer on their upcoming 2020 release. I said no thanks Elon, I’m sticking with a company that has stood by me: Union Pacific. I’ve got a future at UP. I’ve got managers that want to advance my career and put me in positions to succeed. I’ve got a CEO that puts the team and the mission before his own wants and needs. I’ve got fellow employees I could call in an emergency and they’d have my back in a moments notice. And the pay? First off, I’d do this job for free. Having said that, I feel we are more than fairly compensated for the amount of hours we put in, and I feel guilty every time I get a paycheck. And before I forget, April Fools people.
