Thread regarding Cenovus Energy layoffs

Is it just me or?

Is their people strategy so filled with 1984 Orwellian double speak that it leaves you wanting to gag?

Here’s an idea. People are leaving as they are being told for last 6 years no raises and other companies are now comparable for salary. That and no chance of advancement in the technical stream. Only way of moving up is to go to HR and be a senior specialist there.

The HSER group is a completer sham. VP knows nothing about safety. No upward movement or development, then they cry when someone quits

So is the safety department. Oh right there isn’t one. Heard Friday that they had another one quit. I think that group has lost more than hr actually. We don’t have any qualified safety guys. That should make everyone feel comfortable when we have new training or ideas from that bunch

You can’t name the person or they take out the thread. But yes look at all the senior specialist and it’s a freaking joke. Our HR dept is known as the worst in the industry.
