Tired of being told that working at home is this wonderful benefit that Humana has kindly given its staff. With us working at home, Humana is not paying for office space and parking space, utilities or internet cost for a large portion of its HAH work force. They have us work at home to save money- no other reason!!!!!!

Other insurance companies buy you a desk/chair adn what ever you need. One even supplied an exercise bike. Humana is squeeeking by...Look at profit margins and where those are going. Not to you.
Here is the big picture. People pay into the government for their healthcare to be covered with they get over 65. My grandfather had free healthcare. ALL was covered. Then corporations talked the government into privatizine the insurance lines by letting THEM take care of it . So what happens? Legal scams. We don't cover 100 % anymore, we only cover a portion. And your meds? Sorry, we had to make you pay a portion. HEY! Its the PEOPLES MONEY! They paid into this system all their lives and all they are doing are making a few fat cats and I am not talking about the workers, I am talking about the CEOs and board members that do the twisting and figuring on how to make their own bonuses bigger.
If I didn't work at home I wouldn't be able to work. I am disabled, for me it has been a life saver. Maybe the poster needs to be either grateful or leave? No matter where you work there are issues. Humana isn't perfect, by far but for me it is a answer to being able to work at all. So yes I am grateful and able to provide a living for myself.
YpanLCs-byxx- if you still work for Humana or if you ever did for that matter, using WAH as an actual complaint is just plain nuts. I mean, come on, what's next? Complain because Humana deposits $ in your bank account every 2 weeks?
@YpanLCs-7qoq If you don't see Humana screwing over employees and members daily, then you are delusional. You might want to work on that with your improvement plan.
YpanLCs-7npf. Wow. Really?
To previous sarcastic person ranking nurses as entitled, overopinionated, etc....Get a real education....:p. Just saying.....yes we are entitled. We earned our badge of honor. You? Dont get mad that you are condemned to Burger King while we eat our caviar when u didnt earn it. HA!
@YpanLCs-6hwh Oh please stop complaining. Try working for a living. I assume you are a nurse... Entitled over opinionated, overpaid. Get a real job.
I agree with the poster. Humana is very quick to tell us how wonderful it is work for them, how they have the happiest and healthiest employees, and how transparent they are in searching for healthcare solutions. Working from home does have benefits but how many extra hours are "required" to work off the clock to meet ridiculous goals? They moved from salary to hourly after a class action lawsuit and then made it clear that they weren't paying overtime and the workload is increased. You do the math.
WAH is the main reason I stay! Sure I’m stuck at the desk with aux codes and the auto dealer keeping track of my every minute with pressure to make contacts talk time pass audits take lunch and breaks while making sure to do it all with no overtime.... but still! Yes WAH is the perk that keeps me here. No I don’t wear PJ s and I do get dressed for work but that means leggings and flip flops! 15
Really! Count your blessings and stop complaining!
Is this really a complaint??
@YpanLCs For goodness sake leave. Just the simple calculation of the time saved should more than offset any perceived 'bonus' Humana get. You don't have to worry about meals or coffee breaks, you don't have to buy work clothes... I assume you don't live next door to the office so travel costs are a consideration. If you work in a major hospital you may be expected to pay parking fees. When you are in the office you get dragged into little gift buying deals with workmates, you decorate your office space.... If you don't see the benefit then you are clearly myopic.
Absolutely agree with last poster. I put gas in my car once per month and you pay for internet service anyway. Not sure what the compliant is?
It saves them money and you, too. Did you have internet before you started? Electric? The amount your bills go up is miniscule compared to the savings Humana has with not paying building fees, but you aren’t paying for gas for a commute, etc...yes, it saves them money, and saves you money, too
