In 2012, I submitted an IDP to my supervisor, citing as my planned goal to become a millionaire in 5 years. I was told that this was in inappropriate goal. In 2018 I became a millionaire thru strategic investing. I then reminded my supervisor that I had met my goal, was indeed a millionaire and didn't see how I could possibly do better. I was told by supervisor to 'get over myself' and was subsequently laid off. Talk about sour grapes. My point is, that in order to get out from under Humana you must take some risk and apply some creative thinking. Think big. I continue to laugh all the way to the bank....... lol

GOALS, how about just letting us do the job we were hired to do. Corporate stuff gets in the way, how about you hire great people that are dedicated to doing there job. Goals: Good people that you hire and know they have members and Humana's best intentions as a rep. for the company. Please stop with silly stuff, Pioneering Simplicity, nothing simple over the last several years.
I think the goal is totally appropriate since we were required to participate in Go365 as part of our "goals" this year as evidence of personal growth and wellness. I, too, was subjected to this type of jealousy with success on 3 levels...financial through personal investment, educational goals met and national recognition through some projects outside of Humana. I cant be specific as to reveal my identity as to what these were. I will tell you, the more I accomplished, the more the underlying sarcasm and mockery occurred through leadership. No. They do not give you merit when you succeed, they attempt to cripple your accomplishments. I am laughing so hard with OP. I understand crawling forward and amassing wealth and accomplishment outside of this Company. Congrats on your "Screw you Humana" goals. I hope you thoroughly and completely enjoy every single penny and that your life brings you success beyond what you can even conceive. Bravo!
LOL Why is a millionaire still trolling this layoff site? I would think you have better things to do?
Well, OP, that was an inappropriate goal to enter and I think you're well aware of that. Don't get me wrong, it's awesome that you met your financial goal, kudos to you! Thinking your flippant attitude may have played a part in why you were selected for RIF though. Just saying. Anyway..... best of luck to you, hoping you continue to maintain and grow your wealth.
Did you include that in your letter of resignation?
Lucky you!! Please help.
Good job you for not believing the H jargon and line. 'refined form of misery'.... I would apply that to working with Humana!! ...oh, SOOO true! CONGRATULATIONS on your success and busting the box they wanted to control you with!!
........ in the words of Oscar Wilde; money can't buy happiness but it sure can buy a refined form of misery. However, should you win the lottery or make a killing in the stock market, do be careful about sharing your good fortune with Humana. They will steal your thunder and rain on your parade just for the fun of it. ( Where on earth do they find these emotionally warped people employed as supervisors?) Thinking outside of the Humana box is considered inappropriate behaviour and actually making it out of the box , using your own intelligence, even worse.
You have done well, take care and remember, money makes life so much easier, happiness with your family is most important.
Omg! You are my hero! Congrats! Too cool for school!
