Tell the rest of the story @3jzi, as you’re cherrypicking so far to suit your agenda:
...and when MaBell “dumped it”, as you say, they wanted to do anything but. However, needing to by court mandate, the Baby Bells did better than Ma did, because the controlled the local interests right up to and into the home itself. The work was done by the same men and women as before, who were members to the union, as before, and these organized baby bell men and women bdid better than their counterparts who opted to stay at home with Ma.
So history’s repeating itself, in your opinion. So what? The union represented people will remain in their union represented areas, doing their union represented, protected work.
So, you see, 3jzi, the more things change, the more they stay the same, for some, with the exception that the build, when and if it’s done in union areas, will be lucrative for the men and women that build it, even if there’s some contractors in the mix, messing things up and doing substandard work.
It’s all good until we cruise into retirement, no matter how much you want and wish that reality not to be. It just is what it is amigo.
