Wirth wasted no time in allocating his $1 billion treasure. Today the fencing when up around the block in front of 1500 Louisiana in prep for the Hollub Tower. 3000+ new seats will be ready for filling by early 2021. Hmmmm... Wonder where those will come from?

Picked up by helicopter? No way, 1400 and 1500 both have mounting plates on the roof to affix a crane.
It's not a new building, their replacing the AC units on top of 1400. The units are being staged there and supposedly going to be picked up with a helicopter.
Umm, 6001 Bollinger is valued at $350 million. The sale will more than pay for the third tower, thus cutting cost. Add on probably 3,000 employee round trip flight + hotel per year at $1500/each and you get another $45 million savings over ten years.
CVX has no plans to use this money to build the 3rd tower. There is no need for more space downtown. CVX is NOT moving from San Ramon. CVX is going through another layoff and should be done by early next year. Space available. Wirth will give back the $1B to stock holders, not build a building. Wirth cuts expenses, not increase them. Buy CVX stock NOW!
The scuttlebutt is that moves start early 2021 with management last, just like the SF>SR move. A core group of a couple hundred will remain behind, possibly with a lease-back on building A after CHVPK is sold.
You are an id--t, the fencing went up before the announcement
At CVX we were our failures on sleeve like Predators wear acid burns on face !!!! Proud to be Chevron just like mother of dragons.
OP, I sure hope you are right. I’ve always said Chevron HQ would someday soon come to Houston ever since it bought that patch of land next to 1500. I would welcome the new headquarters in Houston and think of it as the right thing for the company.
Not quite but a good tale!
