Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Windstream employee incentives receive court approval

• Key employee incentive/retention programs at Windstream have been approved by a judge in its bankruptcy proceedings, Bloomberg reports.

• The U.S. Trustee objected to the programs, saying the key program allocated just $3.8M of the $5M earmarked for non-insiders and the balance could go to insiders/officers, and that executive performance targets were too low.

• But judge Robert Drain ruled that the programs were in line with industry standards and the employees were necessary for ongoing operations.

No raises or bonus for employees but $MILLIONS$ for the 5 people responsible for Windstreams biggest failures. Its a cash grab before the doors close.

Capitalism isn’t the culprit, corrupt greedy people are the problem. Carma will catch up with them in the end and they won’t be able to buy their way out when it does.

And here is a great example of how capitalism can go wrong. It's supposed to efficiently allocate capital toward the strongest, most economically profitable firms...or those with expectations thereof. Here, we have good money thrown after bad paying this completely incompetent group of executives incentive bonuses they do not in the least deserve. They are solely the reason the company is in its current situation. There is an approximately "0" percent chance this group of underachieving fools can turn things around. All this does is cover the losses these mo--ns took with their WIN holdings, makes them whole, before everything meets is final and predictable outcome...they move on leaving everyone else holding the bag.

I hope this judge reviews 'industry standards' severance packages for regular employees and forces Windstream leadership to increase said packages for the rest of us to match 'industry standards'. But that would require compassion from a legal system that anything but fair for regular folks, not just for the leadership.
