@Z463hC0-2odq Before my store closed they eliminated 2 ASM (the Operations and the one in charge of appliance/electronics/mattresses). Those two when eliminated could come back with a huge downgrade because they rejected the supervisor offers and got the severance pay along with the unemployment. Two of the tools fell for it and I am sure they were maybe making $14.00 to $16.00 at most. They didn't like to pay in my store the store manager always loved to sugar coat and lie that you can move up in the store.

After years of working in the company never was I offered a raise (being their for 6 years) until the end when I took a higher position which benefited me since my unemployment became more hefty and I got severance pay. However if my store would of still been opened I think I would of quit when I read the boards how things are much more worse it would of been way to much to handle.

I left Sears making nearly 17 an hour to start a new job at 21 an hour .

What makes matters more ridiculous is that happened over 20 years ago .

File under - 12 dollars an hour, you've got to be kidding me .

At my store leads make 15.00-17.00 and Zone supervisors make 20.00-24.00. We have 3 Softlines leads, 1 Jewelry lead, 1 footwear lead, 1 Hardlines lead, 1 Store support lead. We have one Softlines ASM, 1 Hardlines Zone Supervisor and 1 Store Support Zone Supervisor.

@1ekg Where do Sears Leads make $17 - $20 an hour? In our district most Sears Leads make $13 - $15 an hour. A few make $12.50. Looks like we are already right in the ballpark for your IBO estimates.

These meetings were typically in the past about identifying the new supervisor role and who will go and who will not. Then they will determine needs

Usually this means ALL new positions have been identified by sales volume and then its placement. In the past, If someone was resulting in more than a 10% reduction, it’s considered a demotion and then there are HR implications related to job offers, signed demotions or unemployment Identifying future management needs in other stores, could shift managers, while keeping others that want to stay in the new job.

I’m sure at the meetings, how and who gets removed gets clarified along with hR procedures and compliance

Replacements. They’re id’ing possible replacements for the highest paid ASMs/supervisors and leads to see if they have enough hi-po associates to promote to replace them. The new people won’t make as much (15-17 for supervisors, down from the 20+ they make now; 12-14 for leads, down from the 17-20 they make now); and they will probably be part time or at best FT30. The IBO is probably a ways off based on this, and they’re still exploring where they want to go and what they want to do with it.

Oh, is that why there are liquidations in the news on almost a weekly basis? Talent action planning? Makes sense. Not.

The meeting is nationwide. All store managers with market leaders. It’s for talent action planning. In old speak (high-potential round table). The store managers are supposed to discuss who in the store can be promoted into leadership or salaried positions. The IBO might be involved with this as well... it doesn’t make sense to make your “high potential round table” when people might get cut soon. Doesn’t make sense.

Is it all Store Managers in the NY/NJ area? We are in New York, my SM says he doesn’t know anything about a meeting, but he’s off tomorrow so...

Just found out mine does too. But apparently it’s to discuss reviews. I don’t know if I’m buying his story. Why is everything kept so secretive until the last minute?!
