I've heard there's a new chief actuary, but I see no news of it on the internet. Why is it being kept secret? I don't think the company feels shame for hiring two chief actuaries for the same role within a year.

If by golden parachute you mean promoted to CFO, sure.
The Chief Actuary they hired was so good that his cost analysis of himself came to the conclusion that his position was not necessary....hence...he gave himself the boot and took the golden parachute with him. $300k for 1 weeks work.....not bad.
