Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Can you say one positive word about Oracle's current culture?

Let me start.................................................nope. Nothing comes to mind. Anybody else?

Dumb LE. He could have done MS deal without wasting time and money on building this OCI mess.

Get out of Oracle if you can.

"growing pains?" you must be thinking about companies like Salesforce and Workday. Oracle's revenues have been decelerating so you might want to pay attention to their Q4 earnings report on Wednesday. Haha

@ZA3EWat-qtd I'll rerun my previous post without naming any names. So, the-person-that-shall-not-be-named that you talk about has been in Oracle since 2014. That's more than 5 years to produce something and as far as I can see it's truly slim pickings. It is also interesting that there is 18 months gap between leaving AWS and landing at Oracle, according to his LinkedIn profile. So, one wonders what was really happening during that time. If it was some sort of stealth mode at Oracle deal, it just adds almost two years to the timeline of the current OCI debacle.

@ZA3EWat-1cif Mostly correct, although I am sure this comparison could actually insult the Borg. The Borg have a purpose and certain sense of equality, while Oracle does not.

And our friend @ZA3EWat-1crk must be the epitome of Oracle culture on its day off.

Ask anyone who came to Oracle from an acquisition what they think of the culture and they will probably equate it to the Borg. Assimilate or else. Don’t ask questions. No one wants to know your thoughts. Don’t complain. Never, ever EVER jump the chain of command...something that is anathema to someone used to a smaller more interactive environment where communication is more fluid.

If they can’t build it in 72 hours with the army of IC1-4 they have at hand then they will never get it done.

Good Principal Engineer or not that doesn’t qualify you for EVP in any way in 5 years. You need experience to lead anything this big and hiring your friends that are also aws rejects and promoting them beyond their experience, talent, and qualifications just proves this immature boys club is destined for disaster.
