When all this blows over, you'll get called back. I'm sure it's just temporary.

I feel for those who were let go. In addition to looking for new jobs you may also want to think about relocation (particularly if you are in Vegas) if possible. Use to work there for a large strip c-sino. I'm sure you know at the end of the day the jobs in the gaming industry are all about cliques, particularly those in back of house. While the cost of living is less in Nevada these is also a lot less opportunities.

Layoffs are really bad once you are 50 or older. Happened to my dad, took him 8 months to find a new job - he was 59
Mirage to MGM there's always a plan. The plan is simply to get another job! This unfortunately happens everyday. Whether you know ahead of time or if it was unknown ..the plan is still the same

Good luck man. I am in the same position, I am 52 and I was let go after 22 years. The good thing is at least it's not a recession.
