I just spent over $500 at Lowes and did not get 10% off on anything.
I bought 6 items at Lowe's yesterday and received 10% off military.

I'm tired of these chain stores shooting off their mouths about how veteran friendly they are they offer a discount on a few small items while offering no discount on anything substantial just like the few veterans parking spaces basically their discount policy is P.R. bull if they want respect from the veteran community they should at least respect our intelligence enough to do something real and not some false virtue signaling cr-p

Look no further than at Lowe's CEO, Marvin Ellison, for the change in policies that relate to the phasing out of Military Discounts. I would rather receive no respect than phony, insincere respect.

I am a Veteran who is extremely disappointed with Lowes. It seems like for years “We are so proud to support our Military Active or Retired!” I’d like to know the truth why they did this? It’s as if they were keeping this a secret?

Just turned down as a Vet.on wood! Was not aware of the corporate push to abandon veterans.
Maybe cashiers should really look at a ID instead of just give a disc.on a phone number.

I went to Lowe's to purchase a carbon monoxide & smoke detector, the total price was $37.49. I asked for the Military discount and was told that didn't work on this item. I told the cashier we had to bleed to get the discount. And her answer was the receipt said Thank you for your service. I told her where to stick the Thank you and went across the street to Walmart and got the same item for $29.00.
Lowe's you know where you can go to now, I'm done shopping there.

Got military discount of 10% at Home Depot a couple of days ago! Bought 2 hot water tanks and a bunch of other things needed.
As a Cashier, the one word I hear all day long is ‘Military!”. If that gets eliminated, there will be total he-l to pay. This company is so mismanaged and CHEAP!
This is going to make life a living he-l for all the cashiers at Lowe's. They already come and go at record speed, through training, to the registers and out the door. This will send them screaming and clutching their heads in agony. Mark my words. Of course, the way prices are rising, there may not be much of an ongoing need for many cashiers anyway (cough--layoffs!)

I am a 24 year veteran, and drove out of my way to get the veterans discount at Lowes. Yesterday I went to purchase a washing machine to find out they are not honoring the veteran discount no longer. Needless to say, I will be saving gas now and shopping else where and closer.
Inflation is everywhere. Sure, the discount has been great. Nothing lasts forever. Lowes has done a good deed for years. If they need to change policy, then so be it. We are grateful for all the savings the discount provided us.
The military discount is why I go to a Lowes instead of Home Depot which is closer.
Husband has always had to show I.D. So couldn't share phone number even if he'd wanted to.

Why besides greed, no more lowes for me, I can go get 11% at menards and take down your veterans parking only because no one will be using it!!!
I quit shopping at Home Depot for this very reason. It looks like I'll be looking for a new supplier for all my building supply needs!
I just found out that my military veteran status is not recognized at Lowes or Home depot. It would appear that they're only reason is profits. It would seem that they could have done a little research and possibly set a limit on purchases. Most of the veterans are not contractors. Wokeism has stuck again.
I purchased over $10,000 of new appliances from Lowe's today and I got a $1.67 veterans discount for the new ice maker line. That was that was yep!

I went to Lowe’s today and bought a 100 dlls Dremel tool, they told me it did not quality. I guess tools don’t qualify…if nothing that matters qualifies they should remove their so called military discount which makes Lowe’s appear like they care and are friendly to vets. I mean they used to care and we knew it….my question is what happened to them caring for vets, did they change CEOs? I guess I’m going to have to explore my options and hope that all vets do the same… ACE & Home Depot here we come.
I went today to Lowes, and their policy of not giving the discount also applied to tools. The same day went to home depot and honored their commitment. Now I know where to buy regardless I have to drive a bit more.
Went to my Lowe’s today and was informed at register that they no longer give the discount for appliances,lumber,or electrical at this time. They may just quit the military discount altogether. Went Veterans need help the most this is what we get. Walmart stopped the military pharmacy program as well. Next time they need people to fight a war ask an associate( if you can find one ) at Lowe’s.

Actually Home Depot does honor a military discount. It's just not a marketing tool like at Lowe's.
I am a military retiree (31 years+) and shopped almost exclusively with Lowes, but I will be shopping with other stores in the future.
I have read the pros and cons but still find this is disappointing to hear. The only good I can can make of it is with the price of gas escalating we will not have to travel across town to get what we need. We can buy from the local mom and pop stores which were squeezed out when these giants moved in. Sorry to see it go but it's time to spread the wealth.
I am a veteran and a contractor and i am COMPLETELY done with lowe’s. i spend about 60-80k at the local store here during the summer months on treated lumber but you can bet that money will be going somewhere else now. I hope you go bankrupt lowe’s!! veterans are the reason you even have the ability to make the billions you do every year!!! Pathetic
With all that is going on in the world today, Lowes discontinuing the Military discount is disgusting. What is the annual bonus for the Corporate Fat Cats. By the way, Home Depot is already limiting the items that qualify for the Military discount. Looks like they are reading the Lowes PR manual.
