I am hoping they have another one. The previous one was too soon. I am going to wait until end of next year to qualify for age 55 FHA funds and if there is a T2R between now and then I will take it, if not I am leaving after hitting 55. How often do they occur ? Would they offer one while the previous one has not completed

Based on past history, they usually do this every 3 years with the last one in 2017... so 2020 may be your year.
Do not hold your breath for T2R (Transition to Retirement) in the U.S. the number of people who would qualify are now so low that it is more cost effective for IBM to just include them in a Resource Action (Transition to RA) than to implement another special program.
If you are holding out for FHA, remember you can only buy IBM insurance with it unless you hold on till your 65 and on Medicare. Another point to remember, IBM notes in the fine print that they have the right to cancel the program at any time. At which point, you are left with nadda..
what is T2R? I'm new to IBM from the hosting acquisitions, never heard of this
The equivalent in Canada is Pathway to Retirement and it is being offered this year - the offers went out about 3 weeks ago. It's been offered every year the last few years. Here in Canada it is potentially cheaper than a traditional layoff because an employee with some guts can sue for one month Severance per year of service if they are a long-term employee with good track record.
