Thread regarding IBM layoffs

When is the last time you received recognition from your supervisor at IBM?

Was it last week? Month? Year? Has it actually ever happened?

I'm mostly wondering if it's a company wide thing not to get recognized for going above and beyond? Just so I know and can adjust my future working habits...

Kind words - I get them daily. I love my manager. Don't really need much more than that... Good job and see you tomorrow will do it for me.

It feels like most of the posters here are self-centered or stagnant. All these post smell like a sh--ty attitude.... my colleagues and I get recognition every time we deliver...

I got my last recognition on June 6th. In the form of a phone call to let me know I've been RA'd.

My manager did say I had been doing well and commented that my reviews were all good. Just they had no more need for me now that our cheaper offshore counterparts had been trained to take over all the work.

I got a Thank You and corresponding blue points just a couple weeks ago. Before that, a monetary award was nearly ten years ago.

That depends on what recognition means. Kind words, or money?

I get recognition 2-3 times per year and have been assigned to a new manager almost every year.

If you're not being recognized I would switch teams pronto.
