Pulse Survey

Here's the issue with the pulse survey.

As Managers, we were pushed to get our folks to take the survey.

Emails came above to get your numbers up.

Survey's don't work that way.

You need to let folks decide if they want to take them.

Those will be the real results which can actually help the business.

Employees who took them from fear will stack them in favor of the company knowing full well they are tracked.

It's plainly obvious they have reports at the Director level of participation from emails sent by upper management down through the ranks.

Never take those surveys. They are never anonymous. If you are negative, you name is up for firing and if you are too positive...you must be an a$$ kisser who does not do any work. This is just a tool for HR to reference for the next lay off round.

Totall agree! The majority of mngmt are so in fear for their jobs that they themselves will never fill it out truthfully. Then they're scared that the employees who report to them will fill it out truthfully. What a disaster.

The response about training has been answered a couple of times. You have to do it on your own time. Bs about taking control and investing in your future. Have fun.

I'd like to know who had time for the training they keep talking about. I'm on so many projects that I don't even know what I'm doing.

Totally agree, anonymous surveys would yield true results. Also, don't just tell us about the results - tell us what you are doing to change the culture after VSP, IT staffing shortages, knowledge gaps, etc.
