I’m a global architect and was given notice by my manager to start looking for a new role internally, but my role would be eliminated in next layoff. Anyone else receive that advice or coaching?

NTAP is just a big battle of the business units now. And full of sales teams that only know how to sell OnTap Dumpster Fire

To be previous poster, I'm sorry you were let go after coming back from PTO.

I worry Engineering will be hit again sometime in 2019.

Most of all the top talent has left and the top talent they do have they screwed this last quarter. I have no trust in the current leadership.

You'd have to be off your rocker to work for NetApp. There are so many better alternatives than working for an organization that clearly can't get their act together. Sink or swim is not a healthy environment to be in let alone wondering daily if you are going to be laid off because of some bean counter some place thinking they can transform a company by churning talent for peanuts.

Netapp is always hiring even through layoffs. It lets them dispose of people they think cost too much to get cheaper labor. Just try to get one of those jobs when you get your walking papers, you won't even get a callback.

NetApp missed their financial goals. There will be changes coming. The only tool GK knows how to use to pop the stock is "operational" efficiency. That means layoffs.

Seriously, another one? How big this time and which groups?

NetApp Engineering was already hit in 2018 so I'm hoping not again in 2019.

Troll? Doubt it. NetApp is in fact the wurst company to work for. It’s transformation day every day of the week with a hole in the ship. The only loser is the employee who thinks otherwise. Come on over to Dell where we win every minute of the day.
