Completely irresponsible of oracle and the 3 stooges to delay the award of this important contract. Tells you clearly what the stooges care about - their own bank accounts and their own bank accounts only.

Oracle should be spalled with a multi-billion dollar fine for frivolously relaying the award process!

“Oracle’s odds of being awarded the JEDI contract are slim, even if the Gate Criteria it challenges were removed. Contrary to the suggestion in its supplemental brief, Oracle is not in the same class as Microsoft and AWS when it comes to providing commercial IaaS and PaaS cloud services on a broad scale… Even if Oracle were reinstated into the competition, its chances of being awarded the JEDI contract would be slim, minimizing the harm of its exclusion.”

Seriously guys, those of you who are commenting on government incompetence have missed the point.

Oracle cloud is not EVEN good enough for the government, which may not have looked as deeply under the covers as other businesses might. When you are deriding the government and Oracle failed to get the contract, you are saying that Oracle is SOOOOOOO bad they couldn't pass the government inspection.

Unfortunately, JEDI being delayed by Oracles's legal wrangling is apparently not so good for USA either...

This is good for America. Our cloud has so many security issues, DoD use should terrify anyone. Total anarchy. We dodged a bullet there.

Clearly the DoD is performing due diligence in evaluating and thinning out bidders just as they are supposed to.

The government performing due diligence? Now that's a knee slapper. Like they did with the F-35?

What is with all the anti-military whining by you guys? Either Oracle can meet the terms of the defense contract, or it cannot. O was rejected once, then O legal department tried to sue its way back into the contract selection process, and failed to do so. That by itself reeks of corporate sour grapes. Clearly the DoD is performing due diligence in evaluating and thinning out bidders just as they are supposed to.

Not all that difficult to see the clear differences in capabilities and performance between the real and very substantial cloud capabilities of AWS and MSFT on one hand, the pretend, make belief nonsense that oracle calls cloud, on the other. Child’s play. The smart move by oracle would have been not to contend for this business, now the whole world knows that oracle doesn’t hold a candle to AWS and MSFT.

Then again, we don’t call the stable geniuses running oracle the 3 stooges for nothing. A well earned moniker!

FWIW, since when has the DoD ever shown good judgement in selecting contractors? They waste money on a colossal scale.

The pentagon has made the right decision.

The same pentagon that pays $500 for a hammer?

Duh, a 5 yr old with a smart phone could have told them that. There is a reason we call the mo--ns who are running oracle into the ground the 3 stooges.
