I worked for the architecture company who designed the building. it wasn't their fault that the building is bland. The person at oxy who oversaw the project was resistant to all designs and originally wanted to just be a single tower without any wings. It was even pain to get them to allow the stripe around the building.

The OXY Midland office is a bland, architecturally un-inspiring edifice. From the outside it looks like an institution for wart-faced, sloped-forehead, knuckle-sc-aping OXY-mo--ns.

If its anything like Chevrons Covington office, -1mtn, they will have continuous monitoring of all employees through cameras, microphones and a snitch, get rich program of turning in other employees for things such as not holding handrails, walking on the wrong side of the hall or even just lookin gat other people in a funny way.
It is the Chevron "compound" that looks like a prison. Completely encompassed by an 8-10 ft. fence with barbed-wire or razor wire on top. In order to get inside fenced "compound", must get past sentry (probably armed) in fortified guard house. Would make for a good barrier on the southern border. Chevron has no problem w/ illegals gaining entry.
I’ve been part of the new APC building in Midland. If you enjoy glass walls and wide open workspaces with limited privacy, you’ll love it. There are some conference spaces that can close off, but the offices—while nicely furnished and spacious—offer no privacy from passers-by. The cafe is nice, so is the gym. Compared to Oxy’s office right across the street (which looks like a state prison) it’s the Ponderosa in the hill!
