Does anyone know if Nielsen still provides severance? A friend of my husband was let go after 6 years but was told to file for unemployment.

So why did my husband's friend get nothing? Seems it was out of spite? Or they no longer care about claims to their unemployment insurance?

As recently as a month ago I know of employees being given severance along the lines of the old terms.
He got nothing. His last paycheck was fedexed. (This is the US, but I prefer not to name the state.}
It depends on the country you live in. In USA there used to be a 4 week minimum.
