Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

INFY Folks logging from crazy places around the world.

Shank and team promised shareholders that they were replacing VZ employees with infy contractors and while doing that they were going to keep customer data safe. But due to lack of vision Shank is forced to give INFY "on site" prod access. Now infy folks have access to log in from places like Romania, china, russia and n----ria. This does not go well with the data safety promises they had sold to VZ customers. I smell potential lawsuits with this.

It will all end sooner or latter, they will outsource everything you can count on it. So keep on earning and take advantage of the perks like tuition reimbursement. Do as much OT as you can and build up your reserves and get those resumes up to date and out on hiring sites.....you may be able to get the package as well as a new job back to back.

infy practices are nothing unique when compared to how things are handled in Irving and VDSI. IT managers and directors are upset that they could get their picks with outsourcing vendors.

if there is any decent security these could be prevented.

@ZPRTXeP-2wiu - I think what we are talking about here is the lies that vz leaders made to the shareholders about customer data safety. That opens up lawsuits for the law firms. The law firms do not care if there is a harm or not. If you give them an opening for a lawsuit they will do it.

Does it really matter where they are working from - even WFH? Anyone can get anyone's data these days. Nothing is secure. So who cares. Just do your work, get paid for the job you do, feed yourself and your family, and enjoy your life. Let the company worry about their policies and the contract they have made with the outsourcing company. Hopefully, by now, you all know, all info on anyone is known by anyone who wants it. Just type your name on a search engine and where you live. You'll be surprise what information comes up about you. You'll be surprised what information the usa gov't/your local town already shares about you, your income, where you live, the property taxes you've paid, your criminal record. All info is already online. And by the way, Trump just gave into China (and has already given into Russia) this past weekend at G20. All that talk about Huawei and security issues, just went down the drain. He caved.

Irving TX has assigned cubes and some hoteling stations. INFY folks squat in conference rooms and they get crowded at times.

1kow....employees don’t have cubes in a lot of locations. It is just come and squat where you chose. That is a BS excuse.

INFY folks do not get assigned cubes in the vz location. If they all came in to the vz location at the same time, there would not be enough seating. They are constantly be kicked out of cubes they squat in when the vz person who owns that cube comes in for their monthly office day.

Who cares, none of these users are accessing SWS remotely. Sounds like a lot of sour grapes. Shut up and worry about your own job and your upcoming rif.

Its funny that security and legal are not able to see where people are logging in from. They are all in cahoots with each other.

Yes, it is true that the Infy people are logging in from outside the "secure location"

Not only they are not there from the designated "safe" area. They are logging in from non designated area, outside of the designated state, country and the region too.

These executives are putting shareholders at risk because this loss of data security can attract lawsuits.

Very true scenario......some VPs are hoping legal doesn’t find out....

To be clear, the two Infosys people are not former VZ either. My director does not like WFH and has communicated that it should only be done in an emergency situation when it can't be avoided. I know these two have no formal WFH arrangement and are doing it on the sly. I should have added this to my post - @ZPRTXeP-xso

That would not surprise me. I know for a fact that the two Infosys people on our team are logging in from home even though they have no formal WFH arrangement. One of them admitted such to me. They live in TX so they are on-shore but they are not following the rule to access VZ data at the VZ work location.
