"You offer a lucrative buyout."
Actually, I wasn't. Verizon dumped most of former XO's, so-called, "valuable" employees before the buyout was put into effect. Two-thirds of former XO employees, one month before they would have qualified the buyout.
"This happens at all corporations when the growth stops"
And WHY did the growth stop? Isn't continued growth why Verizon hires high-paid executives?
Anybody can layoff employees. That's not leadership, that's failure.
Whatever. The VSP is a pretty sweet going away present to get out of this dump. OP is a tard.
You offer a lucrative buyout.
If you don’t reach your objective,
you sweeten the pie.
The answer is money. Senior management employees make a lot more than new hires. I wish they would just sell out some businesses they don’t want, instead of selling your soul for 2 cents to some Indian company.
Would a RIF with no golden parachute have been preferable?
Geesh, some people are never satisfied.
Some have sat on their butt watching people actually work for years on end, from the comfort of an air-conditioned, dry, comfortable, cocoon-like, sheltered environment, shielded from the real world.
When even that proved too much, they were then offered the proverbial “golden ticket”.
Yet, they still return here to complain.
Now that’s gall.
Glad i did not leave

Yeah they were forced on a false either take the buy out or take your chances to get riffed.now they are being replaced with youngblood..its games corporate america plays..games of chance and lies...typical verizon..
Vz plays mind games with their employees
A - no one is “forced” out if a program is voluntary.
B - if you have any experience with the military, you would know that young people, or “kids”, as you deride them, are more moldable.
C - they accept lower salaries.
D - some of the people, many that I am aware of, that took the SPV had troubling social traits, questionable characteristics, and were a potential liability.
Should I go on?
The kids are alright!
