Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

I don't understand

I am a long time unhappy employee like most of you. I am tired of the continuous changes in management and the ongoing threat of rifs. Every time a new group comes in we repeat the process and waste years and tons of money.

But, what I don't understand is why the market seems to like AIG this time around. The stock is up to $55. I don't understand the optimism unless wall street knows something we don't. Is this revamp the real deal or just another exec get rich quick play?

I am honestly perplexed by this.

AIG has been buying back it's stock, which reduces the float in the market, and automatically raises the share price by creating it's own demand.
I expect to see an SEC investigation into AIGs accounting eventually.

Get out while you can. You said it yourself, every time a new group comes in and we repeat the process.....why expect a different result?
