Just heard that CSW is getting ready for lay-offs. Scheduled to be complete by end of August.

No layoffs in August, 3 top level "retired" in 1st week of September though. Might be the start of a reorganization.
Following up on an old post... were there layoffs at CSW at the end of August?
Hauppauge just laid off some temps. Now they are training in house people on those jobs.
Now the talk of a new bldg. and demo of the old makes sense. Less people in a new but smaller bldg. out with the old and in with the new. Rif the senior people and Fill it up with people that make considerable less, win win for the company. All us long timers will gone.
harris believes L3 is fat and bloated and has way too many people and they are all paid too much.
there will be large cuts coming, large flattening and management layoffs, salary "normalization" (which is HR speak for pay cuts) as well as huge "consolidation savings" which is all people being let go.
people are a huge cost and harris is all about cutting costs so there will be large reductions and it is not going to take a long time - they have been studying it for 9 months. They already have the plans and the savings by head. Now they are just going to tell all the legacy L3 divisions what they have to do and how many to lay off. "merger" is for tax purposes..... they acquired L3 and will be running the show and it is going to mean lots and lots of head reductions.
I've heard that in other locations such as Palm Bay or Melbourne - lay-offs will be selective. The are targeting specific individuals within departments - two or three at most....
I member the good old days when Camille was running the show. She was a brilliant mind and a goddess of beauty
