I heard yesterday that corp HR support is going away for the store (#2567) level, that the person supporting us is being reassigned to a different duty, and corp is now putting all of those activities and responsibilities on the local manager.
This doesn't make any sense because visibility from outside and upstairs keeps things transparent, honest, and compliant with corp policies. If a manager wanted to grab greater influence than the role if defined for, filtering out the balances in the process would be the first thing to control.
This is simple stuff, establish policies and procedures to follow, then put in place the people and systems to follow them, and add in verification points to ensure compliance.
Has anyone else seen changes in their HR support relationship?
I'm wondering if some agenda is going on or if this guy is playing his own game?

our sm is good at 2685 but the asm's are really bad. we have a woman asm who is unfair and a jerk. she was sleeping with prior asm and then got him fired for it and took his job. human respurces guy even knew and covered it up. now she plays favs and surrounds herself with friends. friends she makes fun of behind their backs then nice to face. shes not good person.

Our SM at 1204 either made everything super private, blocked associates, or completely removed her profile from social media. The store is in the c-apper and runs around like a sweaty mess.
all america is these days is carefully chosen marketing to sell product, service, or self. this is no longer a country of the skilled and doers but one in which those who know how to shovel the largest loads of manure convince other manure salesman that they too are the biggest purveyors of choice dung.
linkedin is the perfect example of this. anyone i have ever looked up has a fake resume, exaggerated job titles, longer times in titles that they failed at so as to look more successful etc. and then dont get me started on how you can write reviews of people you worked with.....most of it will just be buddies writing reviews for each other...and not just little peons.....store managers...district managers etc. etc.
i worked with a store manager once...entire linkedin resume is a lie. been fired from every job he has had for incredibly serious issues--and always swept under the rug so the company didnt have to deal with any legal fall out.....because of this hes always been able to go to the next retailer because his crimes get covered up....anyway he and the district manager were trying to land new jobs so they wrote reviews on linkedin for each other and were each others references. i know another guy with a similar linkedin resume....has held about 20 jobs but he carefully crafts the resume....hes great at spewing as much BS as he can to get a job...but within a year it becomes pretty obvious he doesnt have any of the skills. hes been able to accumulate a nice house and a good living off this strategy....at one point he was a bank branch manager.....yet was a D student and struggling in math when i was in HS with him over a decade ago.
