Do any clubs still have a Truckload Associate? Our club still has one but she does everything but truckload work. The GM seems to be protecting her from getting laid off. Gives her busy work to do. She gets in everybody’s way. Nobody knows why she is still around. We thought that position was eliminated.

We have one in our club still, they work in an office with the person who calls all the members on the Expired/Deleted list to get them renewed. The MPU Desk Partner who answers the telephone and uses a printed copy of the Stock Status binder to answer all the members questions about merchandise sometimes sits in that office too. I think she got in trouble the other day because when she paged over the PA system that the following departments that there were signs at the MPU Desk to be picked up, one of the Area Managers felt like she was a little rude. The Vending Partner quit the other day because they couldn’t get the keys to the snack vending machine and the soda vending machine was left unlocked again, and they blamed vending. I do not blame the Vending Partner for being upset, every time he goes to get the big ring of vending keys, the Cash Office Partner is too busy making another “It is now time for a safety sweep of your area, partners please check for empty pallets and sweep your area. Security cameras please record section U15, thank you!”.
All the members are still upset that we did away with the Express Lane checkout last week. Do you know how many people still tried to check out with 11 items via express? It doesn’t help that the only credit card our club takes is Discover, because Discover only charges us $0.25 per transaction, and to keep our prices low, we can not afford to pay Visa or MasterCard 1.5% of every transaction. We do offer big businesses our Sam’s Club Direct purchasing credit account, as long as the company has a D&B (Dunn and Bradstreet) number, they can charge business items to that account. I am currently working out at tires, we went through the parking lot earlier and checked the thread depth of all the cars parked in our lot. If the tires we close to or needed replaced, we put a little note under the windshield wiper as a courtesy, letting them know that they should stop by tires to get new ones. It was raining, but we borrowed the umbrellas from the Member Ambassadors that help business members to their vehicles when it’s raining by holding an umbrella over the members head as they escort them to their cars.
I better go now, they need another spotter to take the forklift cage out to the floor, some little kid lost the helium balloon that we gave him at the door, and now it is up 50 feet high in the rafters, we are going to chain the cage to the forklift with a couple big bolts and nuts, do not want the cage to slip off the forks at that height! Remember:

Safety Always Makes Sense!
We have one of those at our store too. Not a truck associate. This one is a cashier who sit in an office all day.
