Thread regarding Advance Auto Parts Inc. layoffs

Roanoke VA Corporate Changes

Corporate office in Roanoke appears to have a lot of changes coming soon. There's a brand new "team" being created that will be working email and chat support for Walmart customers, and they will be pulling employees from their current teams making those departments short staffed.

There's also a new policy going in affect that will ban all cell phones while you're on the sales floor, which covers the entire support center departments. Rumor has it that current store support teams will now be taking Walmart customer service phone calls as well.

It looks like the Advance/Walmart plan is coming very soon. I hope that plan includes improving store support and not pushing it further to the side.

Doing more work, by using less people is the Advance way. Keep those employees working non stop, no playing games with them cell phones, work you people, make us more money so we can continue to find more ways to do more with less of you. Now that the job market isn't so tight, it is a lot easier to find better employment then Advance. Walmart and Target pay better and less stressful

Most of the people I have seen on cellphones are taking to their broker. I am sure it is an important call and they are taking care of business.

About time, these cell phone users not only surfing the web all day but they are plugged in to ear phones all day talking to their friends and family and you can not talk to them or get them to do anything for you. Time to lock the cell phones up.

Brilliant!! Those corporate guys sure know what they are doing. Maybe they will route those Walmart customers to the local stores. They could direct them to the commercial pros and we could eliminate servicing our shop customers and service those Walmart shoppers. Things are beginning to look up again. Give me an ā€œAā€. Give me a ā€œDā€. Give me a ā€œVā€. You know the rest.
