Seriously, It’s bad enough to get laid off, but to be told that your job basically doesn’t exist anymore is a whole new level. If every company in the industry is changing towards implementing new technologies, than classic plant workers have no place in automotive. Do we have anything to look forward to in this economy and time?

The UAW Is wanting pensions to come back, along with "better" healthcare, and equal pay. I think they are going to be sorely upset when it comes to negotiations and strike.
Time to retrain into something that’s not manual labor. Automation is set to eliminate most of that within a few years. Id recommend learning robotics, electric engineering, or network engineering. These are all things that will be in high demand when robots are doing everything else.
