Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Good PR for the press, we're on college campuses with great glossy handouts on the program. But, it's a dead end

AIG has a program to take people fresh out of college, rotate them around various IT groups so they get a good overall understanding of the environment, teach them, put them on projects. This takes 1 - 2 years. At the end of this time period they apply for a permanent position. Guess what, none available. They are let go, but we still have the program. Looks good from the outside. Good PR for the press, we're on college campuses with great glossy handouts on the program. But, it's a dead end.

Knew a few young folks that this happened to, Sad but true. Glad that @Z9F0MtM-7hhb brought this up

It's great workplace experience. If they are smart, they will also learn from this experience that there HAS to be a better place to work for a living.

It’s a dead end for everyone until they get rid of the CIO’s and all their friends from TIAA and BoA.
