Thread regarding Occidental Petroleum Corp. layoffs

Oxy Compensation

As an APC employee just curious what hourly employees make at OXY. APC starts around $35/hr and the high end is $65/hr in the Permian with a 10-20% annual bonus. Curious if OXY has different pay scales or are all hourly people doing the same job paid the same rate? Also on pension what interest does it accrue? Correct me if I'm wrong but they put 7% in pension and match an additional 7% in 401k? APC 401k was 6% match with additional 4% guaranteed for a total of 10%. APC Pension starts at 5% contribution and goes up to 13% contribution depending on age and time with the company and has 3.25%interest rate

A lot less. In the 5+ years I was there I went from $21/hr to $27/hr. But they pay you a non-exempt salary wage, so you get the base pay regularly like you’re salaried, but you are able to get overtime - which only happens if your manager approves it. Sometimes they just “ask” you to work it and volunteer your time.

Oxy's 7% contribution to the retirement plan can be invested in a number of funds similar to 401k.
