Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Can we really afford to do business like this?

With the competition in this economy, can a retail company afford to experiment to this level, not to mention the atmosphere and the culture that’s declining. I feel If the leadership doesn’t take a big turn that we won’t be able to stay afloat for much longer. Are the shareholders even aware of that?

Lowe's still uses a DOS computer system. I'm sure Marvin has the best computer at his desk.

thats about all you need to know about the disconnect between the real world and wall street and why the stock market needs to be abolished. publicly traded companies use to have to prove they were serving the publics best interest!

lowes listed as a buy all over the place despite everyone knowing its a poorly run corporation! the BUSINESS of lowes doesnt matter because people believe they can make some short term quick cash based on its executives foolish decision makings.

These are 21st century pirates and nothing more. Countries like america use to go to war with pirates because they destroyed the commerce of the people. Now we herald these men and women as savvy titans of industry and great businessmen.

My broker has Lowes as a “buy” but thinks the company is poorly run and has “leadership issues.” His son works at a Lowes store.

I hate to tell you but company leaderships are tanking their cultures all over every industry. With bean counters running the show its become all about money. Management seems to have lost their humanity/compassion for the sake of the mighty dollar.

It must change. But how do we productively begin positive change?

Management has been told to lead by intimidation, fear, and threats. I was told this by my store manager and he expects me to get my employees to work by threatening them. I refused, opting for honest and open communication and was then written up.

THIS is how Lowes manages, and they will not be in business very long with this use of force. Everyone has quit, and are quitting in droves.

Without an operating system in the 21st century there is no way they can survive.
