Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

I'm a cake decorator but my store says I'm just a TM???

I started out as a TM at whole foods and have been a cake decorator for 2 years. My store says I'm just a TM because they don't have "cake decorators" at my store. My schedule says "cake" everyday. Does this seem f---ed up to you? Are any other stores like this? My TL says not all stores have "Cake decorators" or "Pastry TMs" and i'm simply a TM that does cake production. I make all the cakes for the case as well as all the special orders. Are they just saying this so I don't get paid more???

What does your job description say in Workday? If you are in fact the cake decorator as denoted by status then Kronos should reflect that information. If not, then you need to have a convo with store leadership.

You are a cake decorator! We have them in my store, my region. I just want you to know that if you are working over half of your shifts as something you need to be bumped to that category. For example: if you are a retail Tm and you work 4 shifts a week and 3 of those shifts are overnight baking, you need to be an overnight Tm. It needs to be an average, not weekly. But it sounds like you’re consistent. Stand up for it. Get what you deserve

just leave whole foods and be happy why work for whole foods when you can make more money working somewhere else and the work load is not as huge and unsafe.

This person said they do the cakes for the cake case AND special orders. Oh yeh baby, this person is a decorator and should be paid accordingly . Don't comment and try to justify WF's jacking her or him around. Cake decorators work hard. I'm not one, but I see how important they are to the bakeries in which they work.

there's a difference in a cake decorator being an actual position with a role which has a specific job description and pay range, and just the words Cake on a schedule notating that the BAK TM's duties are decorating cakes. Just because a schedule says cake does not equate to an actual "role" with any extra money

Different regions have done things differently for a long time. Some stores used to break it down like that but hardly any. Most stores don't have "cake decorators" as a position. Pretty much everyone are TM's unless you're a buyer or in team leadership. As things are getting more standardized across the company, those odd old "positions" will be history, as they almost are already. And just so you know, most companies will always try to pay you the least they can, that's just business.

Absolutrly they are just saying that so they don't have to pay you more.
