It’s true. I’m seen a few former DROs spinning the sign in front of Little Caesar’s. Glad to see them putting their talent to use. They really got the moves. It’s hot out there so I slowed down and told them to hydrate because I have the courage to care.

College grads from Penn state railroad degree program
Most of us are leaving the railroad industry altogether. Once someone gets a little experience to go along with their degree they become a lot more marketable, and it's easy to find a well-paid job in the current market. Also, since every corporate recruiter out there knows that UP is a rolling dumpster fire that treats their employees like garbage, nobody has to explain why they're leaving.
Most skills acquired at UP aren't transferable, so it doesn't really matter what we learned there. Nobody in the real world cares about how we waited six hours for track & time, cleared form B's, sat on pointless conference calls, or babysat grown men in the middle of the night at some random track crossing in the middle of nowhere.
Any manager still there probably has no other options.
