Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Oci culture and values

Recently spoke to a hiring manager in oci. He highlighted how oci is different from rest of oracle and highlighted ‘oci values’ (which he said unique to oci). But, what I read from here looks different. Can some comment on culture and work at oci. Is it a good place to be at this moment?

OCI is run by a bunch of snowflakes. They send their people to re-education camps

TK's org was not able to deliver anything remotely resembling Cloud, Nimbula was too late and too bad. DJ's org at least was able to produce something working and it's growing at a pretty good pace, but TK boys will keep bashing it because it's not them in a limelight anymore.

Run..Run ..Run. The management are clueless, conceited, arrogant and think they are "technically superior" to everyone, which they are sadly lacking !!!. Morale is at an all-time low and it is only a matter of time before the vast majority of remaining engineers will be let go once the migration to the "Cloud 2" is completed by the Seattle premadonna's.

Turn around and walk away. Going on 2 years at OCI and Oracle has tarnished my resume. I cannot even get an interview elsewhere.

A couple of old chums of mine are at OCI. Average, decent guys, but I was amazed to see their formal titles in their new roles, made them sound like they run the place.

There is a list of values, we even interview based on those list and qualities. But how much the values are being respected... that is another question.

Well, I'll admit this much: the culture and work in OCI are screwed up in somewhat different manner than the rest of Oracle! But it is definitely not a good place to be at the moment. Or ever.

F--- no it’s not a good place to work. In general the people are A-holes.

The people in leadership positions have NO business being in any position of responsibility.
