Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

It’s technology, it won’t be stopped. It’s not just UP or the Railroad Industry. Look at the world around us, everything is being automated. I’m afraid “betting the farm” on some petition won’t provide job security.

It will mean nothing, the fra and the worthless unions are in the companies back pocket

Gosh so much negativity. Bickering amongst ourselves is the perfect storm for the company when it comes to dealing with unions. Each one is ready and waiting to sell out the next. Whether it's blaming the remotes on one or securing individual positions in the union themselves. Technology is the cause of most job loss, that has always been the case.

The union is meant to be the people just as the government was created to be we the people. Greed has taken its toll on us all. Live within your means, if you choose to wait out for a position with the rail Road then do it.

Layoffs s--- especially when it isn't due to a slowdown of commerce. This forum was intended to be an information distribution system and is used like a social media punching post. Good luck to everyone and at the end of the day find self pride in who you are and a job you want to have!

I don't get the animosity and hate? More jobs for everyone should be the goal? When RRs make billions per year. You guys are your own worst enemies.

There is nobody at the White House who is going to do anything about this. If anything they will only do more to enable further deregulation. I give you credit for trying though.
