If you all think that NS is not shutting down mechanical shops you are dead wrong, I'm afraid. One of main aspects of the Precision Scheduled Railroading is have fewer mechanics maintaining the locomotives that means shutting down locomotive shops that are no essential in running the railroad. The unfortunate part about is people being permanently furloughed but I'm still praying for the employees big, or small.

I agree I think well loose a good bit., I think after it's all said and done, it will be down to 3. Juniata , Roanoke and Chattanooga. With juniata doing the majority. And if I'm correct juniata has the only paint shop left on the system? . So after all this prs c-ap is over well be left with 3 with juniata being the majority .. once again just rumors were hearing down here in the south
I don’t see everything moving to JLS. Plus think about winter time. You need shops down south too.
Locomotive Mechanics, Electricians, and Carmen are endangered species with PSR. That’s is a F ing fact!
Word is pretty much everything is moving to juniata, makes sense its the biggest and most equipped. (Btw I dont work at jls) just what we are hearing down south
What’s with the animosity. Dude is just telling the truth. The company has pretty much said this and showed this in every possible way without actually doing it yet. Shops will close. They don’t know which ones yet. And the rest are going to get cut big. Thank god that Trump cut the corporate tax so more jobs would be created. Oh.... wait... they are cutting jobs.
